The Section of Vascular Surgery, a component of the University of Cincinnati Division of Vascular Surgery, provides complete care of the Veteran with peripheral vascular surgery problems. We provide complete operative and endovascular treatment of Veterans with peripheral vascular disease.
We offer the full spectrum of conventional Vascular Surgery operations including complex and re-operative procedures. In addition, we perform the full range of endovascular percutaneous procedures including, thrombolysis, balloon angioplasty, and stent placement.
The group is composed of fellowship trained, board certified and board eligible surgeons and only practice vascular surgery. Aditi Madabhushi, MD, FACS, Assistant Professor is board certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care and board eligible in Vascular Surgery. Joseph S. Giglia, MD, FACS, Associate Professor, University of Cincinnati is also board certified in Surgical Critical Care as is George Meier, M.D. FACS the Chief and Program Director of the Vascular Surgery Training Programs at the University of Cincinnati.
We are a tertiary care facility accepting referrals from throughout the VAMC network. We provide 24/7/365 coverage for Veterans with vascular surgery problems. Two nurse case managers and an administrative assistant staff the outpatient office. The office routinely accommodates urgent new patient referrals from Columbus, Chillicothe, Dayton, and beyond. In addition, the Cincinnati VA Medical Center partners with the University of Cincinnati for resident and student education, as well as for complex surgical interventions.
