Spinal Cord Injury

Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) provides patient-centered care that minimizes the complications of spinal cord injury/dysfunction  (SCI/D) while maximizing quality of life and independence though a multidisciplinary approach within the Rehab Care Line, with other health care specialties (such as Neurology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Pulmonary, and Pain Service) , and community resources.

Inpatient and outpatient Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) care consultation, primary care offered to persons being followed in the Spinal Cord Injury/Dysfunction (SCI/D)  Clinic, SCI Annual Evaluation, SCI follow-up visits, telehealth conferences with the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA SCI Center, and multidisciplinary coordination of care. Specialized Programs: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS, Lou Gehrig's disease) care coordination is lead by the core SCI team. Adaptive sports participation is lead by the SCI Recreation Specialist.
