Cincinnati VA Medical Center

Radiology provides diagnostic imaging services with the following modalities: Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner, Computed Tomography Scanner and an Interventional Radiology Room.

The Imaging Center will feature state of the art, digital radiographic technology.  This includes a Siemens Aera 1.5T Magnetic Resonance Imaging Scanner, a Toshiba Aquilion ONE computed tomography scanner and a Philips Allura Xper FD 20 Interventional Radiology room.  The MRI scanner offers superior clinical images of the whole spine, cardiac and abdomen, peripheral and whole-body angiograms.  Its scan speed will increase the radiology staff's productivity by 50 percent.  The CT technology will revolutionize patient care in acquiring isotropic volumes of an entire organ with a single rotation.  New three dimensional CT technology can be used to review moving joint structures and provide new clinical applications for orthopedic imaging. The IR room is a dedicated area for invasive vascular surgery procedures.  The room provides less radiation exposure for patients and staff and three dimensional tools give extra support for complex minimally procedures.   In the future, there will be an additional MRI and CT scanner to complete the Imaging Center project.
