HIV & Gay Men's Support Group
Time:   1st and 3rd Wed of the month,   3:00 pm to 4:15 pm

The HIV & Gay Men's is to provide support and information for those gay men dealing with HIV positive status.  It requires a screening prior to joining the group.  Please contact either co-leader to schedule an appointment for the screening process.

This bi-monthly group is designed to offer gay male vets a safe and supportive environment in which to process their HIV positive status and the impact that it has in all facets of their lives.  Topics discussed can include health care issues, relationships, trauma, stress management, and substance abuse.   Veterans can provide and receive support from other members in an atmosphere of understanding and respect.  Members report finding the group especially helpful in the areas of self-care and empathic support.

The Cincinnati VA Medical Center offers education and training to opioid users, their f?amilies and community partners that work with people at risk of overdosing.
 
Day of the Week: Every Thursday
Time: 2 pm to 3 pm
Where: 8th Floor, Room A820 - Cincinnati VA Medical Center
 
Participants will learn about the importance of calling 9-1-1 in the event of an overdose, how to perform rescue breathing and administer nasal Narcan and treatment options for opioid users.

Bus will leave from VA Emergency Department (ED) entrance at 8:30 am
You can walk - or ride the bus - in the parade
Riders will be able to return immediately to VA after the parade or spend 2 hours at the Festival and then return back in the VA bus (which will come back to pick up riders)
 
Option 2: Look for the VA Bus & Group in the Parade & Join Us
We do not have an assigned spot this year. You will have to find us.
