The Cincinnati VA LGBT healthcare program hopes you will join us to celebrate and support LGBT Veterans and raise awareness and/or learn about healthcare needs and the eligibility LGBT Veterans have earned during Pride Month 2018.

The Cincinnati VA Medical Center (VAMC) is committed to providing top quality care to all Veterans, including all Veterans in our lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community. We recognize diverse populations have distinctive needs, and are training our staff in culturally and clinically competent care for LGBT Veterans.

Cincinnati VAMC is focused on providing the most respectful health care environment possible. The Cincinnati VAMC embraces the national policies that guarantee access for LGBT Veterans in the southwest Ohio area.

Your LGBT Special Emphasis Program is actively involved in recruiting LGBT Veterans and distributing information about VA health care services available through outreach at community events, community discussions, facility special events, pride festivals and parades.

LGBT Healthcare Services:
       Individual, group, couples and family therapy
       Pre-and-post gender reassignment support
       Hormone Replacement Therapy
       Multi-disciplinary Transgender Treatment Team
       Veteran care via Specialty Care Access Network-Extension for
       Community Healthcare Outcomes(SCAN-ECHO)
       Speech pathology
       Many LGBT Veterans experience Military Sexual Trauma (MST),
       VA wants to help

On June 13, the Cincinnati VAMC will hold a Cincinnati VA Pride event and program LGBT Veterans, families, allies and friends from 10:00 am to 11:30 a.m. with a program to be held at noon in the Auditorium. Guest Speakers will include Medical Center Director Ms. Vivian Hutson, FACHE and Cincinnati VA LGBT Task Force member, Dr. Lara Ann Weaver a Veteran and Transgender Dentist. Musical selections will be performed during the event by the MUSE Cincinnati Women’s Choir. Community and VA services will be in attendance at the event to provide information and answer any questions and provide information.

On June 23, the Cincinnati VA will take part with Veterans, Employees, families and friends as walkers at Cincinnati Pride. A VA vehicle will be available for those who are not able to walk in the parade. Please watch social media for our meeting location to be announced at www.facebook.com/CincinnatiVAMC.
