COVID-19 Vaccines
All Veterans (enrolled and not enrolled in VA Healthcare), Spouses, and Caregivers who have not received a COVID-19 Vaccine (Moderna) and are still wanting to get vaccinated, you can do so Monday through Friday, 8am to 3:30pm (no appointment necessary) at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center located at 3200 Vine Street, Cincinnati Ohio 45220 in the Auditorium on the 1st floor.

Flu Vaccines (for Veterans Only) are available Monday through Friday 8am to 3:30pm in the Auditorium on the 1st Floor of the Cincinnati VA Medical Center (3200 Vine Street).  
Flu vaccines are also available:
  - During any Primary or Specialty Care Clinic appointment
  - At all Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) on a walk-in basis, Monday through Friday from 8am to 3:30pm 

Drive-Thru Clinics for Flu & COVID-19 Vaccines will be held at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center (3200 Vine Street) from 8am - 3pm on the following Saturdays:

  October 9
  October 16

Veterans who are currently enrolled in the Cincinnati VA and have received a COVID-19 vaccination elsewhere, are encouraged to provide his/her documentation with their primary care provider at their next appointment.  Veterans may also use My HealtheVet (Secure Messaging) to upload their vaccination document of record or bring it by the Medical Center auditorium during your next visit to the Cincinnati VA.

The following measures are in place with a focus on your safety: 

Updated Guidelines for Inpatient/Outpatient Visitors. Please note for safety during this time we are limiting visitors to age 18 and older. 

Inpatient (Does not apply to the Community Living Center, the CLC will continue use of current VHA Guidance):

  • Based on improvement of community COVID rates, as well as vaccine deployment, family members may now visit inpatients.
  • Steps for visitors:
- Visitors will be allowed into the facility during visiting hours. At the present time, these hours are from 1p-7p.

- All visitors will be screened for signs and symptoms of COVID as they come into the facility. Visitors are not permitted if they exhibit any respiratory illness symptoms (coughing, sneezing, runny nose, fever, etc..)

- A single visitor is allowed in the facility at a time for a period that will be at the discretion of the clinical team. Please contact your clinical team for more information.

- The number of single visitors allowed over the course of the day will be at the discretion of the clinical team. Please contact your clinical team for more information. 

  • Visitors will be required to use appropriate personal protective measures, including a facemask, and follow the guidance of VA staff. A face mask and shield can be provided if needed.
  • When family members visit, they should not congregate in numbers that do not allow for proper social distancing and safety in areas of the hospital. VA Employees may ask family members to take turns coming into facility to visit family members so that social distancing requirements are maintained.

Outpatient:

  • When Veterans arrive for outpatient appointments, family members/escort/visitors are asked to remain outside, and the Veteran go to their appointment on their own.
  • In instances when the Veteran has a family member with them who states that the Veteran requires their assistance, for either mental or physical limitations, the family members/escort/visitors may stay with the Veteran to assist them.

SCREENING
We will continue to require all who enter our facilities to answer screening questions and we will continue to take everyone’s temperature prior to entry. 


VIRTUAL VISITS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING
We will continue to practice social distancing and provide clinical care options through virtual means such as Veteran Video Connect (VVC) or telephonically, as clinically appropriate. We will mark appropriate distances on the floors and have seating placement to represent appropriate social distancing, avoid tight spacing and reduce the likelihood of spread.


MASKS FOR ALL
To keep everyone safe and slow the potential spread, we are requiring everyone at all Cincinnati VA Medical Center facilities to wear a mask at all times.

 

All events are cancelled until further notice. This includes tables, booths, exhibits, ribbon cuttings, food pantries, health fairs, job fairs, etc. Treatment Groups/Support Groups are still running as scheduled this time. Please call your local point of contact prior to traveling for questions.
