Nursing Service is guided
by Professional Standards of care and practice
in delivering quality service to our community
of Veterans. Nursing roles include traditional
RN, LPN, NA and health technicians.
Nursing provides inpatient and outpatient
programs to support and treat complex medical
and surgical patients. Each of the inpatient
units have areas of specialization. |

- 6-South: Cardiology, cardiovascular
surgery, pulmonary, renal and general
medicine patients, Arrhythmia monitoring
and Ventilator management.

- 6-North: Oncology, Medical conditions
with co-morbidities such as Diabetes,
Hematology disorders, infectious diseases
(HIV, hepatitis, tuberculosis), G.I.
bleeding, substance abuse, renal failure
and liver failure.

- MICU: Unstable Medical Diagnoses
such as Angina/chest pain/rule-out
M.I, Myocardial Infarction, CHF, COPD,
Pneumonia, G.I. Bleed, Sepsis.

- 5-North: Surgery in the areas of
general surgery, otolaryngology, urology,
orthopedics, neurosurgery/neurology,
thoracic/vascular. Detoxification.
|
- SICU: Complex Surgical Patients,
Pain Management, Pain Clinic. Types
of surgeries include: Vascular, Thoracic,
Neurosurgical Endovascular, General
Surgery, Ear Nose & Throat, and
Urology.

- PACU: Provides post operative care
for inpatient surgeries as well as
the peri-operative care for outpatient
surgeries and procedures.

- Operating Room: Inpatient and outpatient
surgical services provided for primarily
adult males, with an age range of
18-90. Types of surgeries include:
Vascular, Thoracic, Neurosurgical,
General Surgery, ENT, and Urology.

- Dialysis Unit: Acute and chronic
hemodialysis and peritoneal services.
