Health Care for Homeless Veterans/Grant & Per Diem Program

All across America, the number of homeless persons is on the rise. Estimates of their numbers range from 250,00 to more than 3,000,000 and their numbers are increasing by roughly 25% each year. Approximately 30% of America’s homeless population are veterans. In response to this national problem the Veterans Administration created the Health Care for Homeless Veterans Grant and Per Diem Program. This program is designed to break the cycle of homelessness and help veterans get reestablished in the community. If you know a homeless veteran, encourage them to contact one of the following VA Homeless Staff for assistance and eligibility requirements.
